Snow! Whether you love it or hate it, one fact is for sure, if you live in New England, snow is a way of life! And since hibernating through winter is not an option, then it's best to make the most of it.

In my home, I have avid skiers. They wish for lots of snow with the hopes to take many day trips up to the mountains of New England. For this reason and actually for a few more that I'm going to share with you, every year we attend the BEWI Ski & Snowboard Expo in Boston, Massachusetts.

According to the BEWI Boston Ski Expo, last year 45,000 people visited the Ski Expo in Boston and 27,000 visited the Expo in Colorado. This just proves that New England is full of skiers and if you haven't been, you need to make plans to check it out this year!

For the Skier: Last year, the Ski Expo gave out a free 12 month subscription to Ski Magazine, as well as a $10.00 Liftophia gift card with purchase of a ski expo ticket*. Many of the ski resorts have giveaways and/or discounted lift ticket promotions as well as show specials for booking a vacation. East Coast Alpine brings a massive selection of ski and snowboard equipment for sale. Long Tail Beer will have their Beer Garden open to enjoy a variety of their beers. There is also live entertainment such as the Skyriders! An aerial acrobatics show! Here is the link for the complete list of Expo Highlights.

For the kids: Besides the on-going live entertainment, the kids may also enjoy visiting each vendor table as often the tables have freebies, small games to play, as well as hand on activities like the Slack Rope walking, the ELITEAM Fitness Challenge & obstacle course. Have your kids try on skies and "ski" down a small hill! Most of the ski places also give out their bumper stickers and I know my kids love putting the stickers all over their clothes so that they look like a walking billboard!

For the non-Skier: That would be me! Can you believe non-skiers as myself actually enjoy the Ski Expo every year? It's true! I love picking up the brochure and/or talking to the resorts to see what day or weekend specials they have going on. I always ask if there is a show special and how long the discount is valid.

The nitty-gritty: The BEWI Ski Expo is in it's 33rd year and you don't miss it! It's held at the Seaport World Trade Center at 200 Seaport Blvd Boston, MA. The show is held from Thursday November 12th through Sunday November 15th. Hours, directions and a coupon to the show can be found at their website at Boston Ski & Snowboard Expo.
