Camping doesn’t always work out how we plan it. I know this for a fact.
Every trip, I usually forget something that makes our trip seem to go topsy-turvy. A little bump in the road that we just have to figure it out and move on. Last year, we bought our first (new to us) pop-up trailer. We were excited and happy and off camping we went. But a mile onto the very busy highway, the pop-up trailer FELL OFF the trailer hitch! Ugh! We were so upset and confused but we got a tow truck out there and it all worked out. My husband now knows how to hitch it properly and we are pretty sure it won’t happen again! Live and Learn!
Another time, it rained so much, water was leaking into our tent getting our beds wet. It was miserable! But then, we purchased some towels and a few tarps and figured out how to make a rain fly to direct the water away from our tent. All better. And then we learned to always bring an extra tarp for situations like that!
You will forget things despite our best efforts or things may not go as you plan, however, I bring you today from the A-to-Z Challenge the letter Q which to me stands for Don’t QUIT! Even if it doesn’t go as planned, try it again! I found this wonderful Don’t Quit Camping poem on Camping Dude’s website.
Don’t Quit Camping Inspiration
|When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.Life is strange with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
Into success ’cause we stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
