I am heading on to week three of the Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion eating plan is going awesome! I am now down 6 pounds and almost 2 inches on my stomach. Totally huge for me! And I am sticking with it, along with my husband.
Last blog post, I told you about the author's interview with Joel Marion and how we got some of our questions answered. This was super helpful! Check it out!
One of the things I am focusing more on is my water. Are you drinking your water? Oh before I forget the Always Eat After 7pm book is available to purchase right now! And you can find out more about purchasing his book right here!
Drinking water
Drinking water is essential on any plan. Well, even if you're not on a plan. Water does so much good for your body. Joel explains how helpful it can be by saying:
“Water helps digest your food, expel wastes, regulate your temperature, protect your tissues, cushion your joints, and protect your spinal column, among many other vital functions. It is through water that hormones flow to the proper organs, that nutrients reach all cells, and that toxins are diluted and removed from the body.”
I have a 24 ounce refillable plastic water bottle that I fill at least 4 times throughout the day. Before I enjoy my morning coffee, I always drink 24oz first. If I have lemon on hand, I squeeze a bit in and drink up. This helps me to feel full and I'm able to hold off on breakfast.
I then keep refilling it throughout the day. Carrying my water with me is also super helpful in reminding me to drink. These days, with staying home more often, I'm not traveling back and forth to school nor going to do many errands. But ,if something does come up, I always bring my water bottle in the car. I carry it from the living room to the bedroom...to the kitchen table for dinner. Having it with me at all times means, I will drink water often. Give it a try!
Eating healthy
The next important step is to eat healthy. Joel Marion, the best selling author of Always Eat After 7pm joined up with his friend Diana Keuilian who put her heart and soul into each of the recipes in the book.
Here's the thing. My kids are picky when it comes to what's for dinner and if it's not something filling and yummy. I'm going to have to take the time to prepare a different dinner for them. Seriously - no one wants that! Ugh!
The Recipes
One of our favorite go to recipes has been Cheesy Ground Beef Skillet'. This protein-filled dish (lean ground beef and beans) is not only healthy but super tasty too! We love to make extra for the next day's lunch,
Cheesy Ground Beef Skillet has seasonings, ground beef, rice, tomato sauce, kidney beans and of course, cheese! My kids gobble this up!
Another recipe we have been enjoying is the Homemade Beef Jerky. We doubled the recipe. The Always Eat After 7PM book had a recipe to cook it in the oven, however we used our dehydrator. It has been such a delicious snack and super easy to mix up the beef jerky marinade! This has been one of our go to snacks to have 'after 7pm!'
This plan has been working great so far. If you missed, why I am participating in this plan, you can find it right here.
Since reading the Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion book, I have lost weight and no longer have the sluggish tired feeling mid-afternoon. I'm always noticing that I am craving healthy foods!
Next week, I move into the next phase and I cannot wait to share my results with you!
