I am heading into my final week of eating on the Always Eat After 7PM diet - The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion! And although I won't be officially writing about this diet, I will be keeping up on it and will continue to lose weight and inches. How exciting is that?!
What I love
If your just joining me on my post, I wanted to share with you why I chose this diet plan, nearly 4 weeks ago. It was difficult at first to stop eating bread and sugar, but then I noticed after I got into it... I was feeling better! I no longer had the 3 PM mid-afternoon slumps. I continued having energy throughout the entire day!
It was exciting to get some answers to questions I had about the book in an author's interview with Joel Marion. You will soon find out after you get your copy of this book, Always Eat After 7PM, that the plan is super easy to follow!

And now, I find that I crave healthy! Yeah I sometimes cheat and have something I shouldn't, but I don't want to go overboard, because it doesn't make me feel good like healthy foods does! The Always Eat After 7PM has a ton of fabulous desserts you can make at home to indulge your sweet tooth!
What I didn't love
There are many positives about the Always Eat After 7PM diet plan, the matrix showing you sample meals for the entire day for four weeks, the many options to eat and the full color recipe pictures are all great things, but there was something I didn't like.
Some of the dessert recipes had a ton of ingredients. I really want to try them sometime, but with kids finishing up schooling at home and working from home, there hasn't been enough time in my day to try all the delicious recipes in the book. And that is why as you'll see below, I had quick items for my snacks and not the indulgent snack recipes they had in the Always Eat After 7PM book.
Favorite bedtime snacks
Here it is, because I know you are wondering, what do you have before bed at night? I love to eat yogurt and berries, but my real favorite is a couple of squares of dark chocolate and a tablespoon of nut butter. Yum!
My husband enjoys cottage cheese and a handful of mixed nuts. He gets a variety so it doesn't get boring.
And then while we sleep, my body is working hard on burning calories. Joel Marion, the best selling author of Always Eat After 7PM says,
“Research shows that the average person’s metabolic rate is no different during sleep than during the day. In short, your metabolism doesn’t slow down at night. Nor does your body store fat at the end of the day. Whether it’s 8 am or 8 pm, you use food for energy the same way.”
So essentially while I'm sleeping, my body is still burning calories! And because I had a snack before bed, I find I am not as hungry first thing in the morning!

Going to keep at it
I got the book for free, but it's really a great plan. My husband and I going to keep at it and get down to our goal weight! I can't wait!
