Hello! I was born in Dorchester, MA and now live in Leominster, MA with my husband and two boys. If you’ve never heard of Leominster, it’s in Central Massachusetts which is perfectly placed within New England, if you ask me! All the other states around us make it easy to get to when we’re out for a day of fun.
“Go outside…!” That’s a phrase you will often hear me saying to our boys. They are ages 7 and 12 and getting outdoors is something I tell them often as fresh air always does them good. Our backyard area is on the small side, but even just playing on the backyard playground, soccer with the neighborhood kids or working on their hockey shots in the driveway, there is always something fun to do.
We also have two dogs in our home. 9 year old Millie is a GoldenDoodle and Chloe is our 6 month old Portuguese Water Dog. Needless to say, our home is always noisy with two boys and two dogs but I wouldn’t change it for anything!
It sounds perfect and many times it is, but it’s also a very busy 24/7 non-stop job and I finally understand why my mom often told me when my siblings and I were kids, that she wished she could find a small closet to lock herself away for just five minutes of quiet! I use to roll my eyes at her. But now all these years later, I sometimes wish for the same closet! If only my mom hadn’t passed before I could tell her “I get it now”!
When starting our family, things don’t always work out how we think they will be or should. My husband, Jason and I went through five years of infertility treatments, none of which worked. We went through much heartache as we did have two miscarriages before we decided it was time for us to learn to put our trust in God. Instead of weakening our marriage, it actually strengthened it and brought us closer together. I was finally at a point where I knew to ask God to give us strength to accept what he has decided for us. We knew God would help us to become parents, whether it was through having a child grow inside me or through adoption.
We love hiking, hockey, traveling around New England (and then some!), play and have fun together. Every summer we go camping, in the fall it’s about picking apples and festivals. Skiing and ice hockey during the winter keeps us busy and soon back to spring where I can’t wait to get my New England flowers into the ground and pray the allergies aren’t going to be too bad this year!
Come join our adventures of the good, the bad, the sticky, the fun, the messy, but all so good adventures of me with my boys.
Thank you for taking the time to read about our adventures together! Every child is a miracle and God gave us two wonderful gifts that we cherish every day.
